چکیده
Background Primary Sjögren’s Syndrome (pSS) is a chronic autoimmune syndrome characterised by sicca symptoms, fatigue, musculoskeletal pain and an increased risk of lymphoma. Patient populations are notably heterogeneous in their symptoms, adding to the challenge of pSS research. This study utilises serum samples from the UK Primary Sjögren’s Syndrome Registry (UKPSSR) a large cohort of clinically well-characterised pSS patients and healthy controls with an aim to determine whether serum cytokines, chemokines and adhesion molecules may be used to differentiate pSS patients from healthy controls.

Importace of monoclonal immunoglobulin in Sjögren’s syndrome
Background: Sjögren’s syndrome is the second most common systemic autoimmune disease after rheumatoid arthritis, RA, with a prevalence of about 0.5% in the general population. It occurs primarily in perimenopausal women (at a ratio of women to men of 9: 1) Sjögren’s syndrome is characterized by lymphocytic infiltration to exocrine glands. The specific autoantibodies of this syndrome are against...
متن کاملCirculating concentrations of soluble L-selectin (CD62L) in patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome.
OBJECTIVE Serum concentrations of soluble (s) L-selectin (CD62L) were measured in patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome (SS) to relate these concentrations to clinical and immunological features of SS. METHODS The study included 40 consecutive patients (38 women and two men) with a mean age of 61 years (range 24-78) who fulfilled four or more of the preliminary diagnostic criteria for SS p...

TNFR1-383 A˃C polymorphism association with clinical manifestations in primary Sjögren's syndrome patients.
Primary Sjögren's syndrome is an autoimmune disease affecting the function of exocrine glands. Tumor necrosis factor receptor-1 (TNFR1) is involved in apoptosis through extrinsic pathway initiation. The level of soluble TNFR1 is reported increased in rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and primary Sjögren's syndrome patients. The TNFR1 gene contains a polymorphism that replaced ...
متن کاملSerum Proteomic Profiling of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Washing Subtype: A Preliminary Study
Introduction: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a disabling mental condition that its proteomic profiling is not yet investigated. Proteomics is a valuable tool to discover biomarker approaches. It can be helpful to detect protein expression changes in complex disorders such as OCD. Methods: Here, by the application of 2D gel electrophoresis (2DE), a pilot study of serum proteome profile ...
